How do I know if my pool has ASR?
The warning signs include map-like or spiderweb cracking, cracks that keep widening or multiplying, and damage that shows up despite a pool being well maintained. A visual check is a starting point, but a reliable diagnosis usually requires professional evaluation — that’s what discovery is for.
Can ASR be repaired, or does the pool have to be completely rebuilt?
In most documented cases, once the reaction starts inside the concrete, there’s no way to stop it, so surface patches don’t solve the underlying problem. A full rebuild is typically the only lasting fix. We’ll always start with an honest evaluation before recommending anything that significant.
Is ASR covered by my original builder's warranty or my homeowner's insurance?
That depends on your specific builder’s warranty terms and your insurance policy — we can’t speak to either one. We’d recommend checking directly with your builder and insurance provider, and we’re happy to provide documentation from our evaluation to support that conversation.
My pool was built before 2017. Can it still have ASR?
ASR is most associated with pools built in Central Texas since around 2017, due to regional material sourcing issues. But if your pool is showing the warning signs regardless of age or builder, it’s worth having it evaluated.
How much does ASR restoration cost, and is it cheaper than building a new pool?
When a full rebuild is required, cost is often comparable to new construction, since much of the process is the same.
If I need a rebuild, does it take longer than building a brand-new pool?
Slightly, since demolition happens first. Beyond that, the design, permitting, and construction phases follow the same process and similar timeline as a new build.
